PUBLIC STATEMENT
October 13, 2016

The Lakewood Hospital Foundation continues to operate as an independent philanthropic entity with charitable funds under the direction of its independent board of trustees.

As previously shared, last year the Lakewood Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees initiated a transition with focus on one pivotal goal ‒ to preserve and protect the Lakewood Hospital Foundation and its assets so that the organization can continue its philanthropic efforts of supporting programs and services that help make a difference in the health and well-being of Lakewood and the surrounding communities. The Lakewood Hospital Foundation remains steadfast in this pursuit and will rigorously complete the necessary transition steps in accordance with all governance and regulatory guidelines. The Foundation continues to provide funding to important healthcare programs and services, as it has throughout its history.

The Lakewood Hospital Foundation is proud to preserve its legacy and expects the transition period to continue throughout the remainder of this year. During this time, please know the Lakewood Hospital Foundation remains in business and fully committed to philanthropic health and wellness pursuits.

LHF have been very open about this for years. A percentage of their funding comes from outside of Lakewood, so they thought... I know of no other secret reason to do that. For the record I believe that the Beck is openly "surrounding areas," LCSC added "surrounding communities" a couple years back.

While it bothers me, they have made off with the lions share of the booty. They have been very open about their status, the money, where it is headed, who is doing what with what, asking donors if it is OK.

The other real concern is how many years did they raise funds for a hospital they knew was closing.

As for the Geiger's, all of them. Lakewood has been very good for the Geigers, and the Geigers have been very good for Lakewood, Cleveland, Chagrin Falls, and damn near anywhere they live, or work. Sometimes I do not agree with Chas, or Gordon, or others, but I always remember the times they were here for Lakewood, Schools, and Lakewoodites.

I understand that part of your family feud includes your personal distain for Ken Haber.

Family feuds and personalities do not factor into my writings and are not my concern.

Nether are your conspiracy theories.

Unlike the Spokesman of Voters for Progress, I have no personal financial goals and I don't take direction from anyone-no PR guys-nobody tells me what I can write or not write. And certainly not the publisher of the Observer.

I follow the facts. I call it like I see it based upon a thorough investigation of the facts.

For example, Defendant Summers testified in the taxpayer case:

1. Ken Haber joined LHA as a trustee in (Summers transcript page 14; line24 ) 2011.
2. Ken Haber was on the Select Committee (Summers transcript page 12; line) 2012-2013.
3. Ken Haber was on secret the Step 2 Committee (Summers transcript page 18; line 5) 2014.

Ken Haber, as an LHA trustee was a member of the highest ranking LHA committees on planning and finance and appears to have been privy to all of the damning information coming form the litigation that Summers, Fitzgerald, and CCF executives were jointly planning the closure of Lakewood Hospital since 2010, if not earlier.

Ken Haber voted twice as an LHA trustee in 2015 to close the hospital.

Note that Ken Haber signed the January 14, 2015 letter of intent LOI on behalf of LHF---that LOI included LHF joining with the New Fake Foundation.

Ken Haber is a Defendant in the taxpayer lawsuit and despite his fine lawyers' efforts he has not been dismissed from the case.

Defendant Ken Haber and his lawyers have joined with CCF and Cosgrove in nearly every court filing--they are inseparable.

The notion that LHF is somehow separate and independent from CCF is contradicted by CCF and LHA joint websites and ccf.org emails

It is also contradicted by the facts that if Issue 64 passes, CCF will dominate "health and wellness" in Lakewood, including whatever is left of LHF's $33.5 million after 25% of it was pulled back to Cleveland by the Cleveland Foundation (which is dominated by CCF players).

Why do you suppose that Hen Haber has not been dismissed and that he and his lawyers are so tight with CCF and Cosgrove?

Can anybody verify whether Ken Haber kept the LHF board informed along the way in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 concerning the status of planning pertaining to the closure of Lakewood Hospital?
