I walk or ride my bike in Lakewood every day. Through my travels, I have noticed unlicensed and broken down cars sitting in driveways. Most of these vehicles have been sitting since at least April or May, so it's not like they just broke down. Also note that all of these pictures were taken from the public right-of-way, so it's not like I was going on people's property or anything.
When Summers took over (and even Fitz! a little bit) it appeared that pride of ownership really took a hit.
NOTE: The reason for these posts is not to be irritating or to be picking on people's properties, but it is to show that since Summers has taken over, that long grass, junk cars, and trash has taken off like gangbusters.

God forbid you point out anything that's a problem in this city.
Several people have posted about issues they have in Lakewood, looking for help, on the city run Lakewood Oh Community page on Facebook. Normal, everyday things that may annoy you. These people are looking for help. Like the nosy AC at one of the new schools. And someone not liking the new boxes for the wireless system at Lakewood Park.
So what do they get? Hostility! One woman even told a poster to move!
These people are blinded by the dazzling BS spewed by the mayor. Everything in Lakewood is PERFECT!

Bridget,
That's the thing. City Hall appears to just see us as complainers. We pay for services like building inspectors, streets, etc. Notice our water bills are going up? Yes, we are paying more money and all of the noisy catch basins, storm grates, and manhole covers can't be fixed because we only have four people doing this work.
How would you like to live next to these places and have to look at broken-down cars for months on end? The solution is simple. Go out, inspect, and mail a citation, giving the owner a reasonable time to either fix the car and get it licensed or tow it away. If the owner does not comply, have Kufner come with a flatbed and haul it away. If the owner wants it back, they can pay to get it out of impound. I believe city ordinances give City Hall right to do this.
Citations, tickets, and fines. All of these ordinances on the books not being enforced. What a waste.
