LHS Runner Completes 26.7 Mile Dash

LHS Senior pole vaulter Clare Toole qualified for the State Championships this afternoon, finishing fourth in the regional competition at Amherst Steele High School.
She will join boys pole vaulter Jimmy Toner to represent LHS at Ohio State University next weekend.

Today's competition started at 4:30......just 2.5 hours before LHS graduation ceremony at Lakewood Auditorium.
The competition lasted well past 6pm, making it a close shave to be at the ceremony on time....Amherst Steele is 26.7 miles from LHS

I'm happy to report that she made it (with her track uniform still on under her graduation gown).

Congratulations to Clare, Jimmy, their parents and coaches on this wonderful achievement.
I'll have more in the next print edition of the paper.
