Hey, it's Record Store Day. Our own My Mind's Eye at Cranford and Detroit is one of the best independent record stores in the country if you didn't know, and they have amazing one of a kind records today, boxed sets, special collectors discs etc. It is a little crowded as you can see the line stretching down the street this morning at 7am, but it's worth it. Yes my photo is sideways because it was way too early to be taking photos but there are record collectors in my house. I might turn that photo around later after I have some eggs.

Thanks for that post. I've driven by the store many times, but from its name I had no idea what they sold.

Do they buy/sell vintage vinyl too? Or only current issues?

Hi Marguerite--

They buy and sell vintage vinyl and new vinyl-- (and CDs) they do a great job of stocking and supporting local music as well. People who work there are very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Once you stop in you'll find yourself going there all the time.

Wow, had no idea it was Record Store Day today but I'm a big fan of this store! Great selection, esp. of vinyl. Charles, the owner, is into the heavier side of (obscure rock) music so he makes sure he's got plenty of that but he's all over the place in what he takes in to resell. Name a genre, he's got it. His prices cannot be beat either, very reasonable.
