Summers' Depoistion Seals His Legacy: Lakewood Less Healthy Because of His Lies

Summers' deposition is replete with repeated lies about how he ignored financial performance and failed to value hospital assets because he was laser focused on healthcare and the "marketplace". Summers wove a tangled tale of his bogus "healthcare is changing" narrative in the hopes of hiding the financial and healthcare disaster he has caused. Lakewood is already less healthy and it will get much worse.

One of the biggest lies of all that he continues to prop up is currently on the City's website --a website that Summers has allowed CCF to use for selling the collective fraud on Lakewood:

Our strategic vision of healthcare for the Lakewood community is based on the knowledge that health care is changing from a facility- and physician-based paradigm, designed to care for the sick, to a population-based effort that aims to improve the health of an entire community by helping people live healthier lives, treating their health conditions early to prevent chronic diseases, and reducing the need for "sick care" in hospitals. This is the future of health care.

Summers and CCF have decimated the physician base in Lakewood--almost all doctors are gone or leaving--CCF and Summers simply don't care about our health. Summers and CCF are together looting Lakewood's charitable financial physical assets to: (1) do stuff Summers' Club has historically failed at that has nothing to do with healthcare and (2) finance CCF's building and improving hospital facilities in Fairview and Avon and a transfer station facility in Lakewood--all facilities based "care for the sick" projects. So Summers and CCF are doing exactly the opposite of the LIE they used to sell the deal.

There is nothing in the deal to (1) "help people live healthier lives"; (2) "prevent chronic diseases" or (3) "reduce the need for sick care." ZERO! It is all lip-service. A couple of years from now they plan to bring in the rookie resident doctors program from Fairview---CCF will not have room for these rookies at Fairview when the "care for the sick" facilities are completed at Fairview--these rookies are already overburdened with patients so they can't help Lakewood when they are moved to the new but very small "care for the sick transfer station built in Lakewood.

The entire premise of the Summers Doctrine is built on a lie--a lie he hammered home in his deposition--that will be his legacy--he has made Lakewood a less healthy place to live.

The Summers and CCF continue to use the city website in an ongoing and active fraud--this is important stuff.

The lie about becoming "healthier" is the "cover up" of how they stole the money and disregarded the health of the community in general and the underserved specifically.

I do not think that making Lakewood a healthier city ever was part of this bad and possibly corrupt hospital deal. I am not against drinking or smoking, but if you drive around Lakewood, the majority of our economic development has been drinking establishments, e-cig shops, and smoking lounges. I was doing business the other day on Detroit at the eastern end where they are building all the new housing units. At the corner of Detroit and Ridgewood, there are five units up for sale. Apparently the residents don't feel safe living there as there was a fatal shooting there. Also, if you drive by there in the afternoons between 1 and 3pm you can watch the drug deals go down in plain sight. We are in the same boat as many other cities, however, Summers has ignored the heroin problem here for the past three years. We have to crack down on the drugs here in Lakewood if you want to become "America's Healthiest City".

I forgot to mention all the burner cell phone stores that have moved into Lakewood in the past two years. This is a great way to attract drug dealers. So again, are we really promoting good health in all aspects of our city? What do we tell our elderly citizens? Do we make them do a mandatory jog every morning and than say "sorry no hospital" if you have a heart attack? So this is Summer's Legacy? Close the hospital, take his reward and then Leave Lakewood? He is a failure!

If Summers really cared about our city and it's healthcare needs,why did he not propose to turn a portion of Lakewood Hospital into a drug and alcohol rehab center? My neighbor who lives three doors down was found dead about two weeks ago. The cause, you guessed it, a heroin overdose. The young man was only 23 years old. I discovered another area of the city where you can buy drugs. At the corner of Detroit and Clarence. If I am able to spot these transactions simply by driving through the city, why is our safety director not noticing or doing anything about it?
