Parking Problem In Lakewood?

Post by stephen davis »

This morning, on my way to the bank, I was looking for a parking spot. This one was taken.

This could possibly be better than "cart art." It has potential.

It's the ongoing problem in Lakewood, so what do we do? Tear the parking garage near the hospital down. Yes it's a few steps away from center city, but it is parking and taking it away is not helpful.

For the past eight years, I have been seeing a physician who was located in the medical building attached to the hospital. Every visit, there was a construction company that was working from floor to floor doing pretty extensive work. Why spend the money on repairs, only to tear it down? Is this idea supposed to be fiscally responsible? That garage holds a lot of cars. Isn't it funny how the mayor and council kept pushing the fact that these garages were in such bad shape? How could the south garage be in such bad shape after a construction crew had just spent years in there repairing it? Just more BS I guess. Anything that will fit their agenda!

Interesting angle. One should be able to obtain the engineering reports that address the condition of the structures. The reports would have been used to justify repairs, and used to justify tear down. The reports will be far more objective and far less subjective i.e. less subject to the weasel words of a particular agenda. But be prepared for whatever the reports say.

I want to apologize for writing a click-bait topic name for this thread. I was really just trying to have some fun with a found object (spud) in a parking lot.

Though I completely understand why at least half of Lakewood is pissed off because of damage done to the public trust, the spud was meant to, hopefully, amuse others as much as it amused me.

Carry on.

If someone runs over it we can have mashed potatoes. Must be one of those self driving potatoes. I saw it peeling.
