Here is a tweet from one of the mayors social media promoters and head of a "news" site that helps spread the mayors misinformation.
I can think of a lot of reasons why a rec center is wrong for Lakewood. Thoughts?
There's nothing wrong with a rec center?

Ryan he works for you, hired over 15 others to be a building inspector, and tweet how cool the mayor and dru are.Ryan Salo wrote:I can think of a lot of reasons why a rec center is wrong for Lakewood. Thoughts?
All he has to do is ask ANY MAYOR THAT HAS ONE. But they don't pay him to say nice things about them.
Brookpark had a $12 million dollar surplus 8 years ago, built one. Tom Coyne, had built up the surplus originally when Ford was still in Brookpark. Today they are broke, and looking at shutting down City Hall and moving it into the half of the Rec Center not used. He blames the Rec Center and Ford, not Ford and the Rec Center.
The problem is when you hang with parrot heads and repeat bullshit it seems good.
People should also ask any politician outside of Lakewood how smart it is to take public assets and turn them over to a private foundation. I have yet to find one that thought it should even be considered.
Lots of people willing to sell their souls, but the truth is the truth.
Rec Center terrible idea.
Private Foundation terrible idea
Helping largest employer break lease and leave town terrible idea
Taxes were going up anyway, and they have been raising them but cutting services for years.
Schools will need operating money soon, we built them we have to keep them funded. taxes will go up
Largest employer gone, taxes will go up
City losing $1.8 million in taxes, taxes will go up
Everyone should save their literature from the last election cycle, for about two years, and read it again.

I wouldn't be shocked if they eventually try to resurrect the Rec Center.
I found it interesting that Todd Heckler, an avid proponent of a rec center, became so active in the Mayor's campaign in the closing weeks. In fact, he and Uldricks were doing some tag team campaigning....so they may know something that the public doesn't.

Above are a few pages of an elaborate 25 page plan developed by PEOPLE CHARGED WITH ENVISIONING OUR FUTURE (dated May 15, 2014).
Summers made the following statements via a Forum LO piece in July, 2015:
1. “[T]he idea of a recreation center was part of early conversations….among people charged with envisioning a healthier future for the community.”
2. “The Cleveland Clinic sketched out a …. recreation/wellness facility in envisioning the future for the Lakewood Hospital site. This concept and others have been part of an ongoing discussion about the future of health care in our community.”
3. “ As options and ideas are more fully flushed out, the community will be involved—as it should and must be—in determining how the hospital and surrounding property can best be developed to serve our citizens.
Maybe DeVito should depose Rick AllTricks?
