Interesting Visit to Lakewood Hospital

Post by Amy Martin »

This afternoon, I had an appointment with the radiology department at Lakewood Hospital. While having my testing done, I asked the tech how she felt about the Hospital closing. Her answer, "Well, we're all upset and have been told that we can't discuss the situation with patients or we'd have to suffer the consequences". I told her that I understood her situation. As I was leaving, I said, "I'll see you next time" and she said, "I sure hope we're still here . . " I found it profoundly sad.

It's perversely ironic that Team Summers presents itself as "victims" that are being "bullied" by "nastiness".

Meanwhile, they endorse the Clinic's blatant bullying of employees, which is includes a "gag order".

The Clinic is spending a LOT of time and money and political capital to kill Lakewood Hospital. There has to be more in it for them than a small medical office building.

I heard the same thing from the maternity ward at LH when my youngest was born...in 2006. CCF has had LH on the chopping block for a number of years, now. The staff then talked about no new funding to replace equipment, furniture, etc. Patients being encouraged to use Fairview Hospital (and I know many Lakewood parents that did just that). And they of course were not allowed to talk much about it but noted who I could send messages of support and encouragement to in order to, hopefully, make a change. This is only a new issue if folks were not paying attention.

They haven't been told the truth.
They are too lazy or stupid to reach correct...conclusions, or
They are biased by their self-interest, dogma, or ideology."
