The Story Of Our Demise Is...

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

... Greatly Overrated!

It is a lie.

I was at lunch today, when a local businessman told me The LO
was out of business! I walked over and handed him the new paper.:)

A funny thing happened on the way to production.

Last week I had thought that Dan and I had screwed up on deadlines. Production close as opposed to printing. With Brian moving to Denver, it has been confusing. Those that had the pleasure of working with Brian, know how well he stayed up on things. Today while going over some paperwork, I noticed that 01/13/09 was always our print time, since last January.

No matter, in the end we are a volunteer paper, even the publisher is
a volunteer. So time off for the holidays is always built in.

Support from advertisers has not slowed. new ones have signed on.
We will be looking at expanding and hiring in the near future, and we
will look to Observers first, Lakewoodites second, and people willing to move here third.

We are committed in our efforts to amplify the good deeds and projects that make Lakewood better, safer, cleaner and more fun. We are also looking at increasing our work and support of civic groups, students, city and of course the Lakewood's Best Feature the Library.

Party on dudes and dudettes.

We are.

Funny side bar:

I read the title, "The Story of our Demise..." and it was followed by "Chicago Style Pizza." Hmm. It spells my demise, at least.
