This is really funny. I would pay to see someone do this locally.

Gary - any thoughts? :)

Ryan,

WOW!

Thanks so much for sharing that ultra-cool video!

That's a truly creative synthesis of instruments. I'm immediately going to tell my friend (who LOVES all things UKE) about it.

As well Ryan.... maybe this great post of yours could serve as a metaphor for the rest of us here on the 'Deck, as well.

If that guy could join such unlikely things as a child's piano, a kazoo, and a uke together, what ABOUT the rest of us? :D

Can we 'Deckers- conservatives, liberals, Democrats, Republicans, etc... start to come together too?

Oh sure, on the social and cultural levels, we know the difficulties.

But on the economic and ethical levels? There's a start.

Ryan, I've loved reading your heartfelt arguments for what you believe in. I may not share your point of view all the time, but heck, I even argue with myself at times! :D

All of us. Let's take a cue from Ryan's link here. If they can figure out how to join a piano and a uke, just think what else is possible?

And the answer is.... anything. :D

Kumbayah. :D

Now THAT'S a vocal range.

Ryan, ever consider a career as a talent scout?

Very few people can sing even ONE part of a barbershop style, let alone FOUR parts!

As a sidebar-

"Sound on sound" recording techniques similar to what this video shows was invented by the great Les Paul. The Rock Hall, in conjunction with Case Western Reserve, is holding their 13th American Music Masters series honoring Les Paul from November 10-15th. Check the Rock Hall's website for details. There will also be a concert involved. I'm not yet sure whether Les himself will be able to be there or not, but I think he would be if he could.

Maybe we'll see you there!

Gary do you think he was singing all four parts?

I thought he was lip syncing. If he was singing, his range is incredible.

Whoops, I just admitted in public that I read Ryan Salo's post.

Who woulda thunk?

Yep, that does seem to be the same voice.

Yes, with music, Sharon,

I would think that just about anything's possible! :D

It does bring people together.

Hmmm...WAIT!

A 'Deck Choir?

Sharon? Ryan? the two Stephens? OBIE!
Ivor? all together!

Just imagine all the possibilities....

...and just in time for the holiday caroling season too! :D

Wait! I can hear them all now!

Only if I can sing Mustang Sally, Gary.

I do have my standards, ya know.

That's a good one Sharon, but how 'bout this:

To the tune: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

With zest together all of us,
Are singing this fine song!
To let you know as Lakewoodites,
You really do belong!
Con-ser-va-tives and li-be-rals,
Re-pub-lic-ans and Dems....
Oh, tidings of ballot boxes so long ago..
At least until it's time for the next show!
