PTA brings Flubuster Clinic to Lincoln on Election Day November 4th.
October 30, 2008
Dear Observer,
Many people think influenza, or “the flu†is just a bad cold; however, influenza is a serious and potentially deadly disease.1
In fact, during the last influenza season 83 children died from influenza-related causes in the US.* The vaccination status for 63 of these children was confirmed and a startling 58 children, or 92 percent, had not been vaccinated against influenza according to recommendations.2
Influenza season is fast approaching, and receiving an annual vaccination is the best defense in preventing this disease.3 This year PTA is offering children, their families and members of the community to get vaccinated against influenza.
Working with Flu Busters, a leading provider of on-site vaccinations, and Novartis Vaccines, Lincoln PTA will offer convenient access to influenza vaccinations through an on-site clinic at Lincoln Elementary. The clinic will be held:
November 4th, Election Day, from 3pm until 7pm
Cost is $30 a portion of which is donated to the PTA
Let’s Fight Flu Together! Your story can help make a difference by spreading the word about our vaccination clinic and the seriousness of contracting influenza. It will also call attention to the positive affect good health and wellness has on student success.
Warm regards,
Chris Karel, PTA Co-president
*Cases aged ≥ six months for whom vaccination status was known
†Influenza vaccines are not currently approved for children under six months of age and may not prevent the disease in 100 percent of individuals. Persons should consult their healthcare providers to determine if they have a condition that precludes them from receiving the vaccine. All vaccines have side effects. The most common side effects of influenza vaccines include local reactions and mild general symptoms.

Educate yourself to the risks of the flu vaccine before being injected. Make a informed decision based on a wide range of information instead of relying only on the CDC and big pharma. Here is one site you may be interested in:

I am not affiliated with this site and offer no advice one way or the other as to receiving or not receiving the vaccination. I just believe you should know the risks beforehand.
