700 Billion Reasons to see Urinetown at Beck Center

Do you need a bailout? Has the economy got you down? Can you barely afford gas, rent and groceries – much less a night out? It could be worse, you could live in Urinetown where people have to pay to pee.

Beck Center understands your pain, so we’d like to invite you to see the show and

PAY WHAT YOU CAN

For two performances only

8pm Thursday, October 9

and

3pm Sunday, October 12

you can see this critically acclaimed musical and pay what you can afford.

Wanna’ pay a buck? Pay a buck. Wanna’ pay $5? Then pay $5. Whatever works for you and your ever-strained budget. Even the service fee is waived!

Tickets for this promotion are available at the door only and can be purchased beginning one hour prior to curtain time. Tickets subject to availability. First come, first served.

Give yourself a break from reality – the economy, the elections, and whatever else is dragging you down. Just come sit back in the dark, relax and laugh.

Now you don’t have a reason to miss Urinetown The Musical at Beck Center. This is the show’s final weekend and your last chance to find out what critics have been raving about…

“If ‘Urinetown’ is a bellwether, it’s going to be a golden season…jokes all funny..One could go on. Or, one could just go.â€￾

~ Tony Brown, Plain Dealer

“Beck’s revival of ‘Urinetown’…is flushed with success…a total delight… If you haven’t seen it before, do so now. If you have seen it, go again.â€￾

~ Roy Berko, The Times

“…better than ever…smart, acerbic and funny…now’s the time to see how this show was meant to be performed.â€￾

~ Bob Abelman, Chagrin Valley Times

“ …wrapped in comical trappings so funny you may, ah, wet your pants…one great song after another…So it would be a good idea not to miss this encore production – and that’s with a capital Pee.â€￾

~ Christine Howey, Rave and Pan

Urinetown The Musical transports audiences to a Gotham-like city where a 20-year drought has made the simplest human necessity, water, more precious than gold. Attempting to regulate its consumption, the government has imposed a bizarre law—the use of private toilets is banned and an omnipotent corporation, the Urine Good Company, is charging citizens to use the bathroom! This satirical comedy pokes fun at capitalism, corporate mismanagement, political corruption, social irresponsibility; and even parodies Broadway theater itself. Beyond the absurd, beyond the ridiculous, lies Urinetown The Musical!

Beck Center for the Arts is located just 10 minutes west of downtown Cleveland at 17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. Free, convenient on-site parking is available. For more information, call 216-521-2540 x10 or online at <http://www.beckcenter.org>www.beckcenter.org.

The wall in my bathroom was stubborn (and also really hard too) and it refused to get out of my way this morning.
