Watch out tonight!

Post by dl meckes »

If you have power, you may not have it for long.

Wires are coming down all over the city and many of them are live.

Be VERY careful!

Well as with every big storm we have lost a big branch, I do hope that the power stays on. We were out running errands and I couldn't believe how strong the winds are. If you have to go out I agree be careful.

Once again, the safety forces have set up a Storm Central command, as they do with any big storm.

Our safety forces are working harder than usual tonight - they've been going non-stop for hours.

LOTS of trees, branches and wires down.

Hurricane Ike hits Lakewood.

This tree down on Manor Park underlines how dedicated the city services are. In the middle of the storm, Lakewood Fire is clearing trees and power lines. Ricking their lives, as the winds continued for another 3 hours after this photo was taken.

This tree was down on Clifton Blvd.

Many more storm photos in my September Photo Blog.

Thank you to all that helped during this storm.

Especially Lakewood safety services.

Lakewood's safety and Forestry services were working non-stop over many hours and the calls continue today.

Thanks to all for their hard work. It really is appreciated.

They are awesome. A year ago, my neighbor's tree dropped a HUGE branch into my yard that went over the sidewalk and into the tree lawn. They were out in a day and it was gone.

I am on the list for today. The same tree lost its upper half last night and it in our yard, over the side walk and in the tree lawn. I really appreciate their hard work.
