National Geographic Channel is running a series this week on what has happened to Michael Vick's pitbulls.
Might be an interesting topic for this city to watch .

Only 1 had to be euthanized during the whole process. I know that 1 is a service dog and the rest are doing great.
I think no matter your feelings on these type of dogs, it is a good story to watch to show how animals can overcome the worst of the worst and still be loyal.
Sadly yesterday I was contacted by a dog warden for a sweet pittie that needed a good rescue (or home) to go to, and since I have worked with this shelter in the past they were hoping I could again, but I had to tell her I was not allowed to bring new ones in to the city.

I've been watching The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel recently and I was very interested to see that his main dog is a pit bull. He takes this dog with him to aide in rehabilitating misbehaving dogs. Not to open this debate again, but this dog is such a sweetheart and so well behaved he makes the other dogs look like the bully breeds.

If all pit bull owners had his expertise, maybe we wouldn't have problems with that breed.John LePlae wrote:I've been watching The Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel recently and I was very interested to see that his main dog is a pit bull. Funny thing is, he doesn't own that dog. "Daddy" belongs to a rapper and Cesar Milan keeps him at his center while his owner travels on tour.

Great show...Just had to repeat this though...
OVER ONE MILLION pitties are euthanised in shelters every year.
OVER ONE MILLION pit and pit mixes die just in shelters, EVERY YEAR. And that doesn't count the ones killed in organized dog fights, tortured, set on fire, beaten, starved, abused, and abandoned.
