It is events like this that make summer in Lakewood fun.

Just heard Ruthie on WTAM's news break.

Nice plug for the concerts and for Lakewood.

Better than that, I'm glad to see yet another event that gives kids things to do and places to go.

Any truth to the rumor that Jim will be running a laser light show from LO world headquarters across the street?

On a serious note, will they be closing down Detroit Road for the concert?

Ruthie....how absolutely positively wonderful!!! A dream come true! When I think about our first meetings at Phoenix last winter....wow....you made it happen. I wanted summer entertainment on Main Street. You wanted a venue for these hardworking talented kids to play. And here we are!

I still remember the morning Ruth introduced me to Chris Vance. It was fait accompli. These two were/are so passionate and so committed to these kids! They were going to make it happen.

I cannot begin to count the hours Ruth and Chris put into this project. Also, we can not overemphasize the invaluable support of Lakewood Hospital which provided sponsorship funding for Main Street Lakewood 2008 events early this spring. When other funding fell through, that backing gave us just what we needed to move forward from the conceptual stage to reality.

Other critical contributors:
The City of Lakewood. With the encouragement of the mayor we got critical public works (the tent!) and security support for the project.

Jennifer Gula for the AWESOME logo.

LAKEWOOD OBSERVER for the bottomless cup of promotional assistance.
A Graphic Solution for assistance with signs, t-shirts and help with any number of issues. Jim - we really, really, really, appreciate the help.

Barb Michel for her marketing expertise.

The Beck Center for the stage.

The Lakewood Foundation, Cox Cable and Dave's Cosmic Subs for coming on board early in the game with financial and promotional assistance.

Ruthie will have to add to the list......she worked tirelessly with so many people and organizations. Main Street just greased the skids.

Congratulations - hooray, hooray.....I hope you felt our good vibes from Massachusetts. What a wonderful program for our community. Thanks for this awesome contribution towards "building the brand"!!

I work Friday nights, so I'm unable to attend, but I think this is such a cool event, and it has to be tremendous fun for the kids.

Just out of curiosity, how did last night's attendance compare to the week before?

My husband and I came out to watch both bands. It was truly enjoyable. I'd love to see many more people turn out to watch these talented kids.

A great night in Lakewood!

Brad, Attendance was a little greater then the week before... many more stuck around to the end--we have been hitting between 100-125 as best as I can tell--would like see the numbers double and triple as the summer progresses! Been hearing some nice feedback from a couple of restaurants who have noticed an increase in traffic as a direct result.....isn't that fabulous?

Thanks, Diane for coming--I need to meet you!

Please everyone spread the word--!
