New Advisory Board - Update

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I cannot find the thread where Mark asked for an update on the new advisory board.

At the last Board of Directors meetings, the update was that 5 members have been selected, and we are still looking for a couple more to fill in the diverse background of the members we have penciled in.

I would imagine we would have the board decided and in place by the anniversary of the printed version of the Lakewood Observer.

Extra care has been given to make sure that the board is diverse enough to represent as much of Lakewood as possible, while making sure their is enough "professional" help to continue the work and philanthropic nature of this project. It will also address some of the concerns of those that have never understood that this is truly "Lakewood's Paper."

Recently we have seen the Plain Dealer pledge "hyper local" as well as their sister publication "The Sun Papers." Even going so far as to ask for help from LO board members. What they fail to understand is that Hyper Local is not just a buzz word. Hyper-Local is about local writers, and contributors, and giving back to the local community. Working to keep money, and businesses in a community. Never turning your back on a charity that needs help, and working with all that care to walk through the door, regardless of the personal views of the publisher and board of directors. We are making sure that the new board continues this open door policy.

As always I would like to commend the Board of Directors for their tireless efforts to bring this project to Lakewood, and now America.
