Lakewood Historical Society Architectural Salvage Sale

Post by Rhonda loje »

On March 1st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Lakewood Historical Society will partner with St. Luke Catholic Church in a sale of architectural salvage items to be held in rooms 108 and 109 in the school building behind McBride Hall. St. Luke's items were salvage from their former convent which, unused for many years, was demolished to make way for more parking. The Historical Society's items are an accumulation from several locations: Harding, Emerson and Horace Mann Schools; the two house on Sloane that were razed for The Cliffs condominium project; and four houses on Robinwood that are a part of the Lakewood High School renovation plan. The items include many beautiful natural wood doors (including pocket doors), oak woodwork (door and window casings and baseboards) oak banisters, cabinet hardware and even a few pieces of furniture, a couple of antique sinks and bathtubs and more!
