David

Thanks for foregoing the obvious comments about creating a "drive through".......

I am glad they were ok. Drove past there on my way to work this morning. I wonder why it happened?

Imagine how I felt, being the manager of Players, hearing on WMJI that a car smashed through the restaurant. I was driving my son to Harding, so as soon as I dropped him off, I headed right over to Players, fearing the worst. My first concern was our prep cook, and hoping she was not hurt. I also was worried about what might happen to a car and driver after going through those big windows. I worried about Valentines day, too, thinking we may have to close. I was so relieved to see a small bit of wood at the corner of the building damaged. That was all. The driver was fine and left after the police arrived. The car was damaged on all sides, so it had appeared to be hit on Madison, sliding up the curb and into the building. Thankfully, no children were walking to school at the time. There are alot of accidents in that intersection, including last year, when teenager lost control of his car and took out our post and neon sign. Just this past week, a car turned into a truck, causing a three car accident.

Oh my gosh! Thank goodness no one was hurt!!! I was concerned after picking up my kids from Hayes today about all the kids/teens walking in the streets because of the sidewalks!!! They aren't all careful either and "expect" the drivers to yield to them. But of course you can see all drivers don't have control! You are right to think how lucky no kids were walking there then! wow.
