I recently moved from the Far East side of Lakewood to right in the middle of it. I found many differences in the two neighbor hoods. On my old street (with the exception of a few well intentioned neighbors) people did not seem to care to keep up there property. On my new street all the neighbors seem to want to keep the street looking good. Every night between 9pm and 11pm on my new street I see at least two police cruisers. On my old street I would be lucky to see two cruisers in as many days. That is the part of town where I would think to have a larger presence. There are a lot of people causing troble on that side of town and not so much where I now live yet I see more police officers an the quite side. Let me just say that I do not believe there is less trouble because there are more officers. They only thing that will make any street safer and a nicer place to live is having neighbors who care about the street. Just thought it was odd.

while driving down 117th the other night around 11:30pm.. I was surrounded by a police officer to the right of me (i was in the left lane) a Cleveland police officer behind me and a Lakewood Police officer in front of me.
The Cleveland police officer ended up turning left, the lakewood one kept going towards home depot and I turned right onto Madison, to which I was greeted by two more police cars.
While they weren't chasing me...they were patrolling the area.
It made me feel a bit safer I have to admit!

I have noticed patrols along Madison have been stepped up. I also noticed some Sheriff cruisers when I was coming home from Trader Joe's today.

I had to meet some friends at Mahall's bowling alley last night. I was going to park at the park parking lot across the street. but some unpleasant youths were hanging around. They were loud and used all the best curse words casually in public. So I parked on a side street.
