A close friend has called me twice about having a candidate put an unsolicited sign in his yard. The first time he thought he wife got it, and she thought he got it. So it stayed for 2-days before being thrown away. Today he walked out and found another.
i have watched homes that are empty getting signs, and signs at apartment buildings, when after asking they belong to no one.
Is there a law against this?
FWIW
What is the law?

I'm sure it's against some law.
However, are you sure the owners of the apartment buildings didn't want the sign there? Also, maybe a sign is being put in the yard because they have the address wrong of someone who really wanted it? I guess it's hard to know the intent of why it's happening.
I'm sure a call to the campaign of whichever candidate it is should clear it up.

I am sure of the ones I have spoken to.
Ner my house is a double that has been empty for over a year. A sign was there. I kow the owner, he knew nothing about it, and assured me no one was renting in the house.
With my friend said the second sign had a post it note saying "I hope you do not mind I put this up for you."
I will be so glad when this is over.
