I just want to say thanks to everyone that worked so hard on my campaign and certainly to those who voted for me. I really think we helped to shape the agenda for the next four years. It's never easy to lose, but I have been there before.
I would just encourage everyone to vote for change in November, that is what I wanted to bring to Lakewood. See you on the trail...

The last times that I've heard you speak, I was amazed at your carefully reasoned eloquence. You have obviously learned quite a bit, and you received over a thousand votes in your favor.
You are a great speaker. You have studied the ways of Lakewood politics well.
And doing all of this, while being a teacher.
You are an exceptional man. I believe that you will have a future in the world of politics. Lessons learned today are the paving stones of the future.
In truth, there were no losers last night.
I'm sure we'll be hearing from you again.
