Where to buy a good steak ?

Post by Mark Crnolatas »

My mom and dad cannot go out to eat, due to physical problems, so can someone recommend where to buy a really good steak for preparing it at home?

Being a vegetarian for quite awhile, I've lost touch with where that might be.

TJ's Butcher Block & Deli, 14415 Detroit Ave. (by Olivewood & Detroit).

It's like meat heaven.

Outside of Lakewood, there's K & K Portage Market in Warren Village.

Costco

Post by Joe Ott »

I was told by a retired meat cutter/butcher that Costco selection is actually pretty good quality-wise and so on.

We buy a lot of meat from there.

FWIW.

Is there anywhere to get a good bison (buffalo) steak (or even bison burger) either fresh OR frozen? Does TJ's have this?

The only restaurant I know of is Harry Buffalo, but I prefer to cook my own. The only store around I know of is Lake Road Market in Rocky River, but they only sell the bison burgers by the 2-pack and the freshness date is very short (since they are not frozen).

I was thinking of trying the meat market around 40th and Detroit, but I do not want to get shot.

Thanks

The Rego's on Lakewood Heights by Lewis (east of Bunts / I-90) has good meat selection.
