I like how the duplex has one "for rent" sign for each half. :)

perhaps the LO should have a photo contest open to readers to submit their photos of Lakewood, and let the rest of the readers decide (either through mailing in a ballot or doing something on the website) what's the best picture of 2006 ...

I don't know if you've done this before (I'm kinda new to Lakewood), but even if you have, do it again!

Though I don't know if Jim should enter ... his stuff is too good!

I think that is a great idea. Jim is a great photographer - but I've seen lots of great work here, Ivor and Rhonda to name but 2. So I don't think Jim should be excluded.

Sometimes, the subject matter is critical as well - it is often the subject matter that I'm drawn to as much if not more than the actual picture. The dog swim for example - just looking at those pictures made me smile.

If you are going to do this, why not have a few categories? Digital Imaging is one of them where photoshop or other packages can be used to enhance, change, modify the image as well.

Another one for children. I loved giving my kids cameras and seeing the world through their keys. I remember my son when he was in kindergarden taking beautiful pictures of table legs that were carved. I must of walked right by them - but they were right in his line of sight.

Lynn

I think you meant.

Jim takes pictures, Rhonda, Ivor, David, Chris, Dick Moles, Scott McGregor, Bill Davis,Paul Tepley and others are really good. I would think Paul Tepley being in the Hall of Fame would deserve great. However he gets more fun from delivering papers that shooting pics.

Ivor and Holly Cooper Whisman have some really good stuff that has been manipulated in PShop.

The Observer Project is rich in all talent and all talent will be rewarded.

Lynn, I win every day I call up the board and walk in the office. Now it is time to share the fun.

You are absolutely right Jim, and I imagine even you are forgetting some other great photographers in Lakewood.

I'd like to see some of these (or the "winning") images turned into note cards & postcards.
