League Announces Candidate Forums

The League of Women Voters – Cuyahoga Area invites the public to three (3) area Candidates’ Forums, featuring state legislators and judicial candidates whose names will appear on the November 7th general election ballot.

Thursday, October 19 – 7:00 pm
Women’s Pavilion, Lakewood Park
14532 Lake Avenue, Lakewood
Judicial Forum for Court of Common Pleas, General Division and Juvenile Court, 8th District Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.
Co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters – Cuyahoga Area, Ohio
Women’s Bar Association and the Guardian Ad Litem Advisory Committee.

Tuesday, October 24 – 7:00 pm
Notre Dame College, Performing Arts Center (Administration Bldg.)
4545 College Road (Corner South Green and Cedar Rd.) South Euclid
Candidates’ Forum for State Legislators including Ohio Senate District 25;
Ohio House Districts 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17 and 19.
Co-sponsored by Notre Dame College and the League of Women Voters –
Cuyahoga Area.

Thursday, October 26 – 7:00 pm
Umerley Civic Center

Rocky River
Candidates’ Forum for State Legislators including Ohio Senate Districts 21
and 23; Ohio House Districts 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters – Cuyahoga Area.

“With the general election approaching soon,â€Â￾ states LWV-CA President Kathy Woodbridge, “here are three opportunities for the public to meet candidates and to determine which candidate best represents their interests. Not only does the League urge people to vote on November 7th,â€Â￾ Woodbridge continues, “but we encourage voters to come to the polls with an informed opinion.â€Â￾

Deadline for voter registration for the November 7th election is October 10, 2006. If you plan to vote absentee, your completed Absentee Ballot Request form must by received at the Board of Elections by November 4.
