State Tax Credit

Post by dl meckes »

Take Action Now for State Tax Credit!
Tell legislators to support SUB HB 149

The Ohio Legislature is expected to reconvene soon and your action is needed now to encourage the House of Representatives to act on the State Historic Preservation Tax Credit in the few short weeks before summer recess. You can help by contacting your House representative and urging him or her to vote “yesâ€Â￾ on Sub HB 149. Sub HB 149 would provide incentive and financial help for redevelopment in older cities and towns. Supporters want action before the summer recess so the bill can go to the Senate in the fall. Additional hurdles remain – the House version of the bill is considerably different from the Senate, SB 60. most importantly, Sub HB 149 takes a pilot-project approach, limiting the number of eligible preservation projects and calling for an evaluation before a permanent tax credit program could be established. Tell your representative “I would like Sub HB 149 – the state historic preservation tax credit – to come to the floor for a vote before summer recess and want your commitment to support it.â€Â￾

Go to http://www.greaterohio.org/policy/hist_tax_credit.htm for more info on the tax credit and to http://www.house.state.oh.us/jsps/Representatives.jsp to find your representative.
