Vote Today and suggestions

Hi!

I don't know about you, but I always find voting in this election challenging. There are so many judges and I don't know alot of them.

I have been using the web sitehttp://www.judge4yourself.com/our_rating_system.htmlJudge 4 yourself to help me evaluate judges.

The other web site that I find useful is http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/electioninfo/ballots/default.htm which gives me a ballot for my precint so that I can mark my ballot ahead of time.

The thing that took me back a little was the review process. As I was walking out a neighbor told me to double check with reviewing. As I did I noticed some of the names and catagories fell below the window frame, and you would have to scroll to double check them. To me it seemed odd as there was no scrolling involved in the voting process, just the review.

My wife chose to watch the paper tape being printed and said that that was much easier.

So far so good.

I voted today with no problems. Although I am glad I had taken the opportunity to try out the machines last week. I think they might be a little intimidating for some people. My husband will unfortunately not be voting today. He went in at 6:30 and they were still setting up and a few other people were in line in front of him. He couldn't stay as he was already running late, so I guess he'll vote in November. We had thought about doing an absentee ballot for him because his work schedule can be crazy but we didn't. Next time we definitely will. I am curious if any of the other polling locations had similar delays. Have a great day everyone and happy voting!!

I have not voted yet today, but numerous co-workers have had problems.

One coworker in Mayfield arrived at 8am and the polling place was closed!
The flags and "voting today" signs were there, but no polls or workers!

Other people I have spoken to have had problems. One woman in Cleveland Heights had to cast a paper ballot at 8am since the machines weren't working.

Other folks from across the county report confusion, lines and delays.

I voted at St. Clements at 8:20. No lines, no problems, and I did review the literature about how to vote and went to the Bd of El website for a demo and consequently found the voting to be very easy. As I recall there wasn't anything to tell me I was voting in 2J. The only reason I knew is because I recognized the candidate for precinct committeeman. Otherwise a voter could unknowingly have a ballot for an incorrect precinct which can be a problem in local option issues.
As Chef Geoff would say-- the proof is in the pudding. And to continue that twisted simile we won't know 'till it's over.

We voted with no problems. Our work schedule allows us to vote at a time of day when the polling place is not particularly busy, but the poll workers reported that there hadn't been too many delays and that the flow of voters had been slow but steady.

The folks in our precinct said they had to report at 5:30 a.m. to get everything set up. The only thing they were apologetic over was the lack of "I Voted Today" stickers. Seems those weren't in the budget for the primary.

I had no problem voting.

Other than the possibility that the votes have already been counted before the votes were voted I think the system worked well.

I did notice that after I had completed voting AND still had the access card in my hand I was prompted to insert the card to begin voting. I didn't think of actually voting again until after I returned the card. I wonder if the system would have allowed it? Does this give new meaning to the old adage "Vote early and often"?

If anyone wants to try it I'll give you a good character reference if you get busted.

Looks like we have a small snafu. The Ohio Secretary of State official Web site indicates a court order in Cuyahoga County will require a precinct to remain open to voters until 9:30pm. Therefore no results until all voting locations are closed.
