Can 2,000,000 Be Wrong?!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

One Million Hits!

The Lakewood Observer (lakewoodobserver.com) surpassed the million hit mark on August 10th, 2005. The Observer started counting from May 26th, 2005. The million hits include both the front page and the Observation Deck.

What is a “hitâ€Â￾? Any request made to the server which is logged, is considered a “hitâ€Â￾. The requests can be for anything... html pages, graphic images, audio files, etc... Each valid line in the server log is counted as a hit. This number represents the total number of requests that were made to the server during the specified report period.

Apart from local visitors, lakewoodobserver.com has been viewed by people from such far-flung places as; Australia, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Colombia, Brazil, United Kingdom, Russian Federation, Seychelles, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Lithuania, Mexico, and Taiwan.

We want to thank everyone participating in the Lakewood Observer for their contributions.

Wow...That is huge. We're a little light on the Pacific Rim though. Let's see if we can't get some action out of the Koreas, Malaysia and Japan !

Let's make that over two million hits in five months.

And Jeff-

We have picked up in Japan (#9 with 247 hits - this month).
Malaysia is still a little slow...
