Local Liquor Options on The November Ballot

Post by Lori Allen _ »

Hi All,

It looks like two items will be on the ballot on November 3rd for local liquor options. If passed by voters, these options would allow O'Toole's Pub at Elbur & Detroit and Mars Bar at Mars & Madison to begin serving alcohol at 10:00 A.M. on Sundays. However, in order to vote on these options, you must live in the voting precincts where these bars are located and not the ward. Below is a link to the Board of Elections website where you can see what precinct you are in:

I am not against drinking and I have a drink myself occasionally. However, I do not feel that this is necessary. It appears that our mayor and council won't be satisfied until ALL bars in Lakewood are open 24/7. I believe Bobby O's is already open from 5:30 A.M. to 2:30 A.M.

Just my opinion.
