LO_11_17 You Asked For More Facts, Here You Go

Everyone on every side gets frustrated with a lack of FACTS these days in Lakewood.
Of course it usually comes down to one side having "the Facts" and not releasing them to
the other side or to the public. What we have seen from the City on the hospital issue is a
complete lack of transparency and, one would say, honesty, in one of the most important
issues in Lakewood's history, and one that could change the community for ever.

Now if this was a private matter, we would have very little to complain about, but these
are public bodies, working with public funds, on public property. Honesty and transparency
are of utmost importance so that we can be sure of what we are hearing. Residents need
to know if what is going on is good for the city, and that it has been done ethically and honestly.

Please read the latest Lakewood Observer, with my FACT-BASED story on page one, and
also read everyone else that has submitted stories from their point of view, and their
understanding of the facts as they apply to their own lives.

I know we all have different needs, dreams, wants and beliefs. That is the basis of the
Observer Project. "I" do not matter as much as "WE, the community."

WE, the community, need facts, and open discussion, with people owning their thoughts
and biases.

I hope we can all agree that a community needs honest and ethical leadership.

Nice work by all the volunteers!

However, I'm sorry to see that the "CCLAS Adopt-a-Pet" didn't make the paper.
I hope poor little Doce enjoys her extended time at the shelter.....
