Lakewood Stands Up to the Clinic--Lakewood Has Won.

I could not be more proud to live in Lakewood than right now.

Collectively, the citizens of Lakewood have stopped the Clinic, LHA and Summers from closing Lakewood Hospital. The closing was sold as a "done deal" and now even Summers has admitted in the Observer in his own hand (perhaps forced by his PR guy) that it is not a "done deal".

The sole reason for this turn around is that Lakewoodites have the courage to stand up to the almighty Cleveland Clinic and the other powerful interest aligned with them.

Summers and LHA trustees chose the wrong side---if they stay on the Clinic' side, the Courts, Federal and State regulators, the Citizens of Lakewood and history will not treat them well. The legacy of each and every one the LHA trustees, including Summers, Madigan and Bullock is in the balance.

I share Brian's intense pride in our community's uprising against this fraud.
It has taken the collective effort of thousands of citizens to stop "the deal" from closing by its May deadline.

However, we continue to face an uphill fight.
Our opposition has immense financial resources, entrenched political power, and the endorsement of corporate media (particularly the PD).

Most dangerously, we face an opponent that is willing to pathologically lie....and they will are already actively resorting to fear as their trump card.
Fear is a powerful weapon in politics.

Lakewood must continue to actively fight this....by talking to neighbors, attending council meetings, speaking out through social media, and voting.

We've come a long way, but we are NOT out of the woods.

The Dark Side ... errr ... Team Summers/Build Lakewood has not even begun to attack or pushback.

Summers, Madigan and Bullock are all toast--scorched by the fire they help start.

Everyone now sees their failed leadership and lack of credibility.

Nobody is buying what they are selling.

The higher the flames get, the more they will be blamed for starting the fire and not working to put it out.

The blood on their hands will stain their legacy forever.

Glossy pictures of the recreation/wellness center and hotel etc. they will publish next month won't disguise their malfeasance.

They broke it, they own it, they can't escape their failure.
They can't hide the truth with bag of money and a handful of dishonest social media gurus with a silly message.

We have true leaders that are taking control of our destiny.

We are all around them.

We empower them.

We can't be stopped.
