Here is a message from Lakewood Schools CFO Kent Zeman:


A regular meeting of the Lakewood Board of Education will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Harding Middle School’s Instrumental Music Room, 16601 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107. This meeting will be a discussion of the agenda items to be acted upon at the same meeting, given that the Board will only meet once in regular session during the month of July, 2015.

The Agenda looks a little confusing, things seem to repeat, but I'm pasting it here as I received it. There are also some interesting items.

For those following the issue of music staff within the District there will be an update in the Superintendent's report. There will also be a construction update.

Number 6 under the Building Sites report is: Resolution to Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP Amendment #4) for the Renovation/Addition of Lakewood High School. I don't know the background on this, but I thought all of this was already budgeted out. It makes me wonder why the "Guaranteed Maximum Price" is being voted on now.

What else?

At the bottom of the Agenda, the Board is going into Executive Session (which means the pubic is not allowed to observe or have knowledge of what they are doing.) "A. For consideration of the employment of a public employee" makes sense but they have to have an executive session for "B. Consideration of the employment of public officials." I don't really understand that one.
