On multiple threads here at the Deck we have conclusively proven that the Clinic's new proposed facility is definitely not a "hospital" under Ohio Law or under any definition.
Over a week ago I spoke with the guy who answers the info@buildlakewood.org inquiries and told him that the "new hospital" claim was bogus---he said they were thinking about taking the claim down and he was looking into it. He is a lawyer and should know by now.
Yet Build Lakewood's website continues their false and fraudulent claims of a "new Lakewood Hospital".
So we have a Political Action Committee formed and promoted by those at City Hall to actively and intentionally mislead Lakewood voters on the most fundamental issue at stake--demolishing the hospital with no hospital to replace it.
Shame on all those involved for promoting this lie.
And yes, Jim Kenny, it is a LIE.

They must call the new health center a hospital or the Foundation money reverts to the Cities general fund. Can't have that.
The Mayor refused to respond to Metros proposal to invest $100 million in Lakewood Hospital.
Westlake is very happy to have a new Metro location at Crocker Park:

Metro was eager to capture that $140 million in business. I suspect that the Clinic is eager to keep it.

This is so incredible. And they have the nerve to say all the "lies" are over here, on the Observation Deck.
One more time folks, here is the definition pulled from Ohio's Revised Code (thanks Brian):
(the emphasis is all mine to make it easier to read and understand that a Health Center is NOT a hospital...nor is an Emergency Room which is open 24hrs a day.)

If you call a tail a leg how many legs does a dog have?
If you call a health center a hospital how many hospitals does Avon have?

Bill
I think much of this will be moot, as Mike Summers goes into the books as the worst one term mayor ever.
HoweverI had the pleasure to talk with Jeff Rohrs about things like this. He thought I was harsh calling
the Mayor a liar. I asked, "If the mayor has a document, he helped to create in his hands, that calls for
the closing and tear down of the hospital has no hospital beds in it, and calls a press conference and
announces Hospital staying and at least 100 beds, what is it? "I understand how it can be confusing, but
in some circumstances..."
Build Lakewood is truthful? Well that depends on what the definition of "is" is?
