Alex, With regards to your question, I guess if given the opportunity I would ask Mayor Summers if he was still comfortable with his response to Amy Martin (in The Lakewood Observer) regarding his silence concerning a serial rapist last year. A response that bizarrely included a burgeoning popcorn enterprise and a bicycle shop. I would add, a silence, that as likely as not, had very serious consequences.

Hi Mark,

Sorry for the late response. I have been keeping a close eye on this situation for the past couple months. It appears to me that there may still be two serial rapists here in Lakewood. According to public records, the last rape happened on May 29th on Winchester. It appears by my records that there have been nine rapes and two suspected rapes since January 1st of this year. I suggest that people do as I have been doing and telling women that they need to be aware of their surroundings and to try to travel in pairs or groups. It is a shame that it appears that Mayor Summers doesn't think this is any great concern for the City of Lakewood. I do not blame Lakewood Police because they have to follow the mayor's orders. This is one issue that will be looked into and addressed if I am elected to Ward 3 council this election. Not everyone has a computer or knows that they can request records. You can indeed go into the police station during business hours and request records in person.

Sorry folks, I just thought I would make a correction. I missed an additional rape on January 20th that happened on Quail Street in Birdtown. Stay safe everybody!
