Is The Federal Government Investigating Cleveland Clinic?

Post by Bill Call »

"Three out of five hospitals in the country are nonprofit. The rules say these hospitals must give patients a clear explanation of how they can get free or reduced-cost care. Then the hospitals have to give patients at least eight months to apply for it. The rules also say hospitals can't charge uninsured patients more than they charge insurers who pick up the tab for other patients."

I'm pretty sure the Clinic violates all of those provisions.

Does anyone care?

By the way:

A lot of people in this region use Medicare and Medicaid. Since those reimbursement rates are less than the rates of private insurers the Clinic has tried to steer those patients to Lakewood. Where will they go now?

Here is an idea:

RTA can establish a dedicated bus service to the Clinics new Lorain County facility so the residents of Cuyahoga County can take advantage of all of that new technology. The bus should be free and offer service every thirty minutes.
