sad news

Post by Thomas J. George »

For those of you unaware, it is with deep sadness I report the passing of two longtime Lakewood residents.
Allen W. Lindsay, former Lakewood High educator, principal and coach recently passed away. The wake last evening was so well attended that Brinkman Funeral Home needed to hold the calling hours at Nickles Funeral Home to accommodate the crowd. Coach Lindsay was a longtime Revely Avenue resident, an active community member and a deeply religious man. He has surviving family in the area. He will be sorely missed.
Scott McDowell, Lakewood High class of 1967 was one of Lakewood High School's most gifted athletes. Scott, who lived on Andrews Avenue, excelled in baseball, basketball and football, earning honors in each. He earned small college All-American football honors at Wittenberg University. In addition, Scott was an exceptional student. After graduation from Wittenberg he graduated from Cleveland Marshall Law School and practiced law in Colorado. Scott is reported to have passed away unexpectedly in his sleep last month. He was 65. He is survived by his mother who was a longtime Lakewood High employee, his sister a local resident, and brother and children in Colorado.
thought many of you would like to know.
