We recently acquired two cats from the Lakewood Animal Shelter. They are neutered young males, and are great buddies.
We are planning a three-week trip next year. In the past, when we took such trips, one of our children stopped in to look after our cats, who liked the arrangement because they could stay in our home. But we have run out of children. Or at least they have moved out of the area.
So we are looking for a way to care for the cats while we are gone. We visited Inn the Doghouse (on Franklin at 117th), today and it seemed to be clean, and they have rooms where our cats could stay together. I don't know of any other places.
So we are asking for information from other people who have faced a similar situation.

Re: Boarding cats
I have boarded both cats and dogs many times at Inn The Doghouse.
It's a very nice facility and the staff is top notch.
I highly recommend it.

Re: Boarding cats
We have some neighbours who help us out. Lacking that, there are some people that provide cat visiting/feeding as a service on care.com. They are our backup for when both neighbour kids leave for college one day

Pet's General Store on Madison used to board my rabbit when I was out of town, they are great! I've seen them board birds, and other exotics, I imagine they would take cats as well.

I have found great people on Rover.com to dog sit, my dog goes to their home and I have used Home Alone Pet Sitting as well. Debbie is a vet tech and has 3 cats of her own.

Re: Boarding cats
My wife cooks at Meals on Wheels and found a lady who lives near us and volunteered to visit our cats. Thanks all for the information.
