It was nice walking into the Lakewood School Board office last week shortly before 9am and
seeing Superintendent of Lakewood Schools Jeffery Patterson, getting caught up with s smile.
Mr. Patterson was the first person we could think of that made both covers of the Lakewood Observer.
While he loved the front cover, with the ALS Bucket Challenge and even commented on his expression...
But was less than giddy of the recent "Lakewoodites" comic, though when he did find it
slightly humorous after it was explained that The Maseks have two kids in schools and the
comic is always their act of love for the community.
Actually, the entire project is an over act of love and respect for this community. But you do
not have to wait for the paper, there is always the Deck, home to great conversation and
breaking news stories like "LeBron James signs with Cleveland" 24 hours before any other
news source. "Trouble at Noon for FitzGerald Campaign" 6 hours before the story broke, and
so many other stories broken by our neighbors and friends it is the community go to place.
For that we are thankful.
