LakewoodAlive started dedicating themselves to saving Lakewood neighborhoods, instead of
commercial development, they have made huge inroads into saving homes, streets and
property values.
Allison Urbanek has built on the legacy of Hilary Schickler, and has worked tirelessly on both
the promotion and education of programs to home owners, to climbing ladders and saving
them through elbow grease and hard work. You should see how you can get involved today,
it is so important for the residents to work together for our neighborhoods.

This version of save a house was sponsored and powered by our good friends at COX Communications.
You know the people that provide lightning fast internet speeds, and entertainment without
huge boxes that hum and smoke. Anyway, the house they had chosen was on Ferndale, so
I took a drive over to see just how hard Allison was working.

Pulling up on narrow Ferndale you could see the 20+ volunteers from Cox Charities all
over the house.

The homeowner a single mother of three that had fallen a little behind over the past couple
years, but given a little help...

You have to give these people from Cox credit. They were everywhere and were doing a
damn good job, scraping and prepping.

Every side of the house had people working, err ahhhh working.

Cranking out this house.

PaintLakewood! aids revitalization and improvement of Lakewood's neighborhoods. Volunteerism is one way Cox and our employees show our gratitude to the communities
we serve.

Affairs, and Allison Urbanek, LakewoodAlive, Director of Housing and Community
Outreach. The stars are in the bacjground.

A day later, the house is an asset to the street and the neighborhood again.
Good work LakewoodAlive and the hardest working gal in Lakewood, their Housing Outreach
Director Allison Urbanek!
