Did We Get The Added Protection?

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

When we got the bike sharrows I thought they were $30,000 for Detroit Ave. the reason
for being so expensive is Lakewood Street Department did not have the equipment to
burn the design into the asphalt, and that would make it last "up to ten years."

While "up to" is a fool's guarantee, seriously does that company come back and re do these?

If we are really going to brand ourselves as a biking community we need to keep up on this.

Maybe we could come up with a way for the city crews to do it, as the line to the left was
painted about 2 years before the sharrow was put down. City crews do good work.

Jim,

Mayor Mike Summers and his Administration - as well as City Council - just love to contract out bargaining unit work.

And, with even more City Hall irony, these are "hard core" Democrats who "appear" to be contracting out good bargaining unit work.

Yes, our city crews do great work ... when they are allowed to do great work.
