It seems like the Polar Vortex is now in our distant past and the temperatures will rise above freezing to a high of 40 degrees today. With these warmer temperatures it gives us all the opportunity to get out there and clear our sidewalks.
Shout out to the homeowners, apartment buildings and businesses who KEPT THEIR SIDEWALKS CLEAR during this last blast mother nature dumped on us.
During my trek west on Madison, from the intersection at Hilliard to Riverside Dr, both on the north and south sides of the street, almost every business and apartment building had their sidewalks shoveled! If my memory was better I would name them all, but here are some of the businesses who took the time to keep the sidewalks clear and safe to walk and run: The Northland Plaza, Lakewood Hardware, Pets General, the Cleveland Clinic Office Building, Harding Middle School, and all of the apartment buildings except one.
Thank You!!
Please remember to help do your part to keep Lakewood a successful walking community and clear your sidewalks after a snowfall.
Let the Clear 4 Kids campaign begin!

Re: Clear 4 Kids
Just a reminder to take the time to get out there and shovel your sidewalks. Homeowners, renters, apartments, and businesses.
Lakewood's kids will be back to school tomorrow and yes, while some of our students will be able to get a ride, there will be plenty of students walking.
Not to mention, others in our community who as well.
Remember, this is a walkable community. Please do your part to make that walk a little easier.

- Across from Harding Middle School…not good! That's a lot of snow to trudge through.

- Met this young mother while on a run the other day. Her mode of transportation around Lakewood….her two feet and stroller for her little one. Just one more reason we need to keep our sidewalks clear!
