Science brought to life:Hooray for Lakewood schools

Post by Betsy Voinovich »

I thought I should post the party of the year on the Deck in celebration of the passage of the Bond Issue--- all of us coming together yet again to take care of the lifeblood of Lakewood, our kids, their education, their future.

This is the Decomposers Ball, the celebration at the end of Mr. McGuan's 4/5 science unit, the Cricket Project. Everyone came to the Ball dressed as a decomposer. It's one thing to study how one form becomes another on paper-- a completely different thing to study your personal decomposer, what it does, what it looks like, and come up with a costume for him or her, and then party down! This class celebrates the evolution of life, love of learning, love of creativity, love of school and each other-- every day.

Congratulations to all of us for throwing in for a state-of-the-art building for them for the next 50 years.

Okay, not sure about all of these guys. From the left, a vulture, some kind of termite, some kind of scary green bacteria.

One of many parties and lessons this class will never forget.
