All

Here is Lakewood Observer Volume 9, Issues 19, just 6 more issues before we start making next year's New Year's Eve resolutions to forget the following year.

There is a certain feeling of fall in Lakewood. The crisp winds blow in, and the skies become alive with color as the trees change their colors. The Emerald Canyon goes from a glorious deep rich green, to a massive display of fall colors before settling into its platinum phase of winter.

Likewise the streets go from overflowing, to overflowing in color, to survival mode as the snow squalls hit. And it is supposed to be a bad winter this year according the the "Farmer's Almanac."

No matter. Lakewood and Lakewoodites will be ready for it.

Please take the time to read this issue, and to pick up the hard copy for a more pleasurable experience on the porch or in your easy chair.

It is funny, it is easy to forget what a paper feels like. Lakewood has had an abundance of printed media sources over the decades but in some areas, they grab their Observer like it is the lifeline to a simpler easier life. A break from the rushing news, updates, tweets, and whatever.

In fact, this project is every bit as innovative and maybe, who knows, more. We combine new and old technology, but we have no desire to shove it down your throats every 2 hours with an email blast, and a tweet, another post.

No, like a nice 10-year-old scotch we are here when you have the time, or need the break.

We have no need to SELL YOU NEWS, we do have the desire to share ideas, information and images about the city we all love. An acquired taste, maybe.

If you have not been to the Deck recently, stop by and take a taste. If you have a story you really want to tell, stop by and submit it, 24/7/365, and if you have an idea that can make this city better, then by all means jump into the Mosh Pit of Word Jazz and throw it out there.

We have found that this is what makes Lakewood and the project so unique: the depth of history and knowledge that flows through the website, the writers, the editors-- all thanks to the city, its people and its businesses.

From our hearts and heads to you, for your pleasure.

Enjoy.
