Direct Energy

Post by Glenn Palmer »

Just a quick reminder that the Direct Energy solicitors are running around town. Here are a few pieces of information for you. Lakewood as a whole (except those of you that opted out) are under contract with NOPEC for an aggregate buy until March 2014. If you break that contract with CEI you will have to pay $75. I informed Direct Energy 4 months ago of this situation and asked why they would solicit in an area that has a contract without informing the potential customers of the fee for cancellation, their response was "we were not aware" . I am here to tell you that they are aware and have not told the current people soliciting about that fact. Please beware and share this with your friends and neighbors!

Just asking ... are Direct Energy's rates so good that the $75 cancellation fee might be "recovered" over X number of months?

Also, does anyone know ...
If both a tennant and a landlord (or two tennants) live in one of Lakewood's many wonderful duplexes ... can the occupants of the two different floors opt to purchase energy from different providers? :?: :?

As long as you have different meters you have seperate accounts and YES, you may choose whichever supplier you prefer.

Though isn't it rather ridiculous that people living in the SAME house might pay different amounts for gas? I liked it the way it was before. I get tired of having to compare all the offers and looking for the hidden costs then worrying that I got stuck with a higher price than I could have gotten if I waited.
