VOTE .... May 7

Post by Peter Grossetti »

As you set your alarm tonight for Tuesday morning, be sure to add some time to your day so you can cast your vote on Issue 14.

I hope you join me in voting FOR Lakewood's greatest asset ... our kids.

But mostly, I hope you vote. Period. Is there any better lesson to teach our next generation of voters?

I wonder if the schools know what they're up against. I just ran into a gentleman that asked me about my "I just voted" sticker. I replied that it was the school levy. He then asked how I voted. I told him "Yes. Of course." Apparently he felt I had erred and started in on how that was a vote for Common Core and how that in turn required all students to have iPads and all kindergartners to be taught all the explicits about gonorrhea among a great deal many other horrible things. Of course, when he insisted that Common Core was mandatory and I asked how it was then that my vote mattered in that context, he seemed a bit confused. But I only understood about half of his sentences anyhow.

It doesn't sound like he even knew to vote today.

Another educated voter.

Will there be a thread for returns?

Looks like the levy is off to a good start...absentees are 64 percent in favor.

So I guess this IS the election returns thread.

With 13 of 41 precincts in, levy is up 1724 to 820.
