Home Repair Workshop for Seniors set for March 7
Your home is your most valuable asset, and it’s important to be cautious when finding a competent and reliable contractor to complete home repairs.
Home Repair Workshop for Seniors, a 90-minute workshop for seniors takes the hassle out of home repairs by focusing on the basics of planning and bidding out projects:
- Obtaining and reviewing bids,
- Specifying what is to be done,
- Selecting a contractor,
- Avoiding common pitfalls, and
- Monitoring the work.
When: Thursday, March 7, 2013, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Where: Kathleen and Robert Lawther Center (16024 Madison Avenue, Lakewood)
The cost for this workshop is $5 for individuals age 60 and older and $15 for those age 59 and under. Transportation for Lakewood seniors will be available to and from the event for a suggested donation of $3 round-trip. There will also be a lunch prior to the event at 11:45 a.m. for a suggested donation of $1.
