Local Girl Gallery To Close - September 30!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

I got this note from Linda Goik, owner of Local Girl Galleries.

It is with much sadness and thought that I have decided to close Local Girl Gallery effective Sept. 30, 2012. I have loved owning the gallery and representing the many wonderful and talented artists whom have walked through its doors. I am truly honored to have met so many generous folks who have supported the gallery in so many ways, and often found it to be a home away from home.

I hope you'll attend our final opening on September 15, 4-8pm, and come close the gallery with a bang.

Fondly,
Linda

Since opening its doors, Local Girl Gallery, and its owner Linda Goik have been tremendous
assets to the community. Local Girl was always there to help show artists work, and as
a place for fundraisers and parties for everything from Tom Bullock's coming out party
when he decided to run for city council, to fundraisers for pets, artists, non-profits,
political parties and more.

Often referred to as the "regular gallery" as it seemed to specialize in the more sedate but
high quality original works of art, as say opposed to "The Pop Shop" and bela dubby which
really did have some wild installations. Local Girl was just a great spot to buy art.

Linda was also a regular since opening with Reflections, a school art program also near and
dear to my heart and time bank. I hope she stays on.

Linda my dear, you gave it a great run, and you will be missed by many.

Good luck and great health to you and yours in whatever you decide to do.

deeply saddened by this news.

but when life hands Lakewood lemons, we are sure to make lemonade (or at the very least, more burgers and wings)
