Also in top 10 of most waste per capita.

Re: Lakewood among top 10 solid waste producers in county
We have nothing to be ashamed of...Lakewood has made significant strides over the last five years.
Lakewood just finished out of the top 10 best recycling communities. Out of 59 Cuyahoga County Municipalities, we finished 11th in 2011 for total solid waste being recycled.
In the grand scheme of things, the key numbers are as follows:
Lakewood disposed of 16,368.66 tons of garbage (we are the 3rd most populace city in Cuyahoga County).
We diverted 15,968.18 tons of recyclable material from the landfill.
Lakewood recycled 49.38% of our total solid waste in 2011 – again that puts us at 11th out of 59 county municipalities. That percentage puts us in the top 20% of Cuyahoga County and just inside the top 5% of all State of Ohio cities.
Are we doing well? Yes
Is there room for improvement? Absolutely
