Goodbye CVS

Post by Betsy Voinovich »

Well, this is the last night. CVS as we knew it will be no more. In another hour, its doors will close forever.

This is our favorite aisle-- the "seasonal aisle"-- now barren and stripped, where once upon a time, when the holiday in question was over, prices would be marked down 50%, then 75%, every time. In this way I ended up with three valentine Teddy Bears bigger than me for each of my kids for fifteen dollars, a Snoopy ice rink that plays Christmas music as all of the Peanuts characters skate around for four dollars, and a chorus of ghosts who pop out at different times and scare each other in the voices of the Three Stooges. ($7.00)

But no more.

It's time to move on-- the time has come. Sometimes you have to understand that you just have to let go already. Time to be heading West down that long street that seems to grow shorter by the day.

Tomorrow is full of new possibilities. You're ready.
