A big THANK YOU to the LO! and those involved

I realize that I might be a bit biased in posting this, but I do have to thank everyone involved in posting on the Deck and writing articles on a regular basis. It is a great source of news for someone who moved a few states away, but still wants to be in the loop with life in Lakewood.

Whether it's photo blogs, forum posts, articles in the new issues, or those that are online, I get my daily dose of Lakewood news from one source only, and it's the LO. I enjoy reading what everyone's thoughts are to the always-changing landscape of the city, and these discussions put me right back in to the latest happenings back home.

I encourage everyone to get involved if they haven't yet. I've met great people through my involvement with the paper, and it's helped me understand Lakewood at a much deeper level. Agree or disagree on opinions, it's a great tool for those who want to keep up with changes, and also a great tool for prospective residents to look inward at the very core of the community. Lots of movers and shakers post here, and a lot starts and ends on this forum.

So thank you to all who are involved, and I encourage everyone who hasn't submitted stories, photos or posts to join the discussion (holy crap, I sound like OB! ) I thoroughly enjoy of your posts, especially the photos, because it's great to see visual images of life in Lakewood.

What can I say but thank you. While you were here you gave so much to this project and
the residents of Lakewood we will always be indebted to you as well.

But you have hit on a popular subject for me as well. The photo galleries, the discussion,
the front page and the thousands and thousands of pages of content we have gathered
over the pat 8 years provides a chance for those not in Lakewood to look and see first hand
what kind of neighborhood we are, and it is a real brand builder let me assure you. After
all you need not leave any personal information if you want to read stories, look at galleries
read our open discussions about the city we all love. You only need to register with your
real name, if you are going to post.

One of the comments I get as I travel to other cities talking about the LO, especially those
out of state, is how open we are to discussion. That members of the city are willing to talk
openly about what many cities would never discuss, and how healthy that is for all.

They are also amazed at how visually oriented we are, with photos, and using videos and
music to add to put point in the discussion. It makes us unique and appear very fun loving.

It is the work of nearly 10,000 members of the community over the past 8 years, people
like you that have made this history making project so much fun, and so good.

Once again thank you for the kind words, and all that you have done and will do for the LO
Community.
