i was really jazzed when i heard a while back that cleveland once again would have an aquarium.

not so much now.

the rates are a bit steep for adults, and that includes anyone who is over 12. you can get in free if you are say under 2. woo..thanks generous aquarium people.

tho your ticket is good for all day, you are not permitted to leave then return on said day. so if you wanna look at some exhibits than perhaps leave to have some sushi for lunch you are outta luck. better pack a lunch (if they even allow that).

also, strollers are not permitted.

looks like a great destination for cleveland families!

i'll take the zoo thanks.

I agree. For $76, I can take my family of four to the aquarium once, or buy a family annual membership to the Zoo.

We looked into tickets for the aquarium because we loved going to Monterrey Bay Aquarium when we lived in California. For our family to go once it was $130, and for memberships it would be $250 as apparently there are 5 adults in my household. We were told we would need separate adult memberships for our three oldest kids because they were teens. I could maybe understand the price if the aquarium was world class like others we have been to but even on their website it says to plan for 1-1/2 hours to see the whole aquarium. There is no way I will pay that much for something that will take less than two hours to see.

The Houston Aquarium (at $15.99 All Day Pass) is amazing. It includes the 3 story aquarium (huge), a white tiger exhibit (amazing) and outdoor amusement park (including a ferris wheel, train ride, boardwalk style games and "Demon Drop" type roller coaster ride). The restaurant is pretty cool but the food was average - as if I was there for the food!
